Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 13, 2026
In short: Speak Clearly AI requires no account, does not contain advertising, and does not send your speech to an external AI provider. Apple Speech handles transcription, the app calculates feedback and scores on your device, and sessions you save remain in the app's private storage.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Speak Clearly AI iOS app (the "App"), published by blue alpine gmbh ("blue alpine," "we," "us," or "our"). It explains what information is handled when you use the App and the choices available to you.
2. No account or profile
The App does not require registration, a user account, or a login. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or profile information through the App.
3. Microphone and speech recognition
The App requests microphone and speech-recognition permission only when you choose to record a practice session.
- Audio is provided to Apple's Speech framework to create a transcript.
- When your device supports on-device recognition, the App requires that mode.
- On devices where on-device recognition is unavailable, Apple may process speech through its services. That processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- The App does not create or retain an audio recording file.
- The App does not send audio, transcripts, scores, or session details to OpenAI or another external AI-analysis provider.
After transcription, speech feedback and scoring are generated locally on your device using the transcript, timing information, and a short-lived audio energy measurement held in memory during the session.
4. Information stored on your device
The App stores preferences and progress locally, including onboarding choices, completed drills, usage counters, starred vocabulary, notes, and notification settings. If you choose to save a practice session, its transcript, scores, feedback, mode, and related metrics are saved in the App's private storage on your device.
You can delete individual saved sessions in the App. Deleting the App removes its locally stored information, subject to normal device backups managed by Apple and your own backup settings.
5. Purchases and RevenueCat
Subscriptions are purchased and billed by Apple through your App Store account. The App uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and determine whether Premium features should be available.
For this purpose, RevenueCat receives purchase history or receipt information, a random anonymous App User ID generated by the RevenueCat SDK, and limited technical information needed to operate the purchase service. We do not provide RevenueCat with your speech, transcripts, saved sessions, name, or email address. RevenueCat's handling of this information is described in its Privacy Policy.
6. Notifications
If you enable practice or word reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. The App does not send your reminder content to our servers.
7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The App contains no third-party analytics SDK and no advertising SDK. It does not use the advertising identifier and does not track you across apps or websites. Debug event logging used during development is not present as a data collection service in the released App.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed for features you request: Apple for speech recognition and App Store billing, and RevenueCat for subscription validation. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Retention and deletion
We do not operate an App account database or store your speech sessions on our servers. Local information remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their legal, fraud-prevention, and service requirements.
10. Children
The App is a general-audience speaking practice tool and is not directed specifically to children. Because there is no account and we do not request contact details, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
11. Your rights and choices
You control microphone, speech-recognition, and notification permissions in iOS Settings. You can use typed text when speech recognition is unavailable, delete saved sessions inside the App, and uninstall the App to remove its local data.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Because we do not maintain App user accounts or server-side speech records, we may have no data that can be linked back to you. You may contact us with a request or question.
12. Security
We minimize collection and keep speech-analysis results on the device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use platform security controls and limit external services to those described in this policy.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, service providers, or legal requirements. The current version will remain available at this URL with its effective date.
