Privacy Policy
Trader Journal is developed by Blue Alpine GmbH. This policy explains how the iOS app handles trading-journal data, screenshots, voice transcripts, purchases, and optional AI requests.
Local-first storage
No account is required. Trades, plans, rules, journal entries, calculated metrics, optional AI summaries, preferences, and imported screenshot copies are stored in the app's private container on your device. Version 1.0 has no broker connection and no cloud-sync service.
AI features
Only when you explicitly invoke an AI feature, Trader Journal sends the information needed for that request over an encrypted connection to the Blue Alpine AI proxy and its AI processing provider. Depending on the feature, this can include a selected screenshot, journal notes, personal rule names, emotions, aggregate weekly statistics, improvement goals, or a speech transcript.
Screenshot extraction proposes fields for your confirmation; it does not silently save uncertain values. Screenshot files are processed in memory by the Blue Alpine proxy, which does not persist request bodies, screenshots, or journal content. The AI processing provider's standard commercial API policy retains inputs and outputs for up to 30 days, with longer exceptions where needed to enforce its usage policy or comply with law. The current voice flow uses Apple's speech-recognition service where supported and does not upload the original recording to the Blue Alpine proxy.
Purchases
Apple processes subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier plus purchase receipt, product, and entitlement information so Trader Journal can unlock Pro features and restore purchases. Trader Journal does not receive your payment-card details.
Analytics and tracking
Trader Journal version 1.0 contains no advertising SDK or external product-analytics service and does not track you across apps or websites.
Permissions
- The system Photos picker lets you select only the screenshots you choose.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition are used while dictating a journal note.
- Face ID or device authentication is optional and protects access to the app.
Retention, export, and deletion
Local data remains until you delete records, use Delete all data in Profile, or remove the app. You can create a local JSON export from Profile. The Blue Alpine proxy does not retain AI request payloads; its AI processing provider applies the retention described above. RevenueCat and Apple retain purchase records as required to operate purchases and meet legal obligations.
Security
Trader Journal uses platform data protection for local files and HTTPS for network requests. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we minimise transmitted data and do not request brokerage passwords, exchange credentials, seed phrases, or order-execution access.
Children and changes
Trader Journal is not directed to children. We may update this policy as the service changes and will publish the effective date here.
